- Genetic Variation
- Alleles - different forms of the same gene
- Homozygous - Only one type of allele present e.g. BB, bb
- Dominant (B) - an allelle of a gene which always determines the phenotype - even if a different allele is present
- Test Cross - used to determine the phenotype of an unknown creature e.g. determine if a creature has a genotype of BB or Bb
- Variations by genetic factors: eye colour, hair colour, skin colour Other variation: environmental factors e.g. climate, diet, lifestyle, accidents
- Alleles - different forms of the same gene
- Characteristic
- Genotype - alleles for a characteristic e.g. bb
- Phenotype - physical characteristics e.g. blue eyes
