      • A thick wall surrounding the cell membrane

      • A liquid filled space in the centre of the cell
    • Chloroplasts
      • Contain the green pigment chlorophyll and are the site of food manufacture for the cell
    • Mitochondria
      • Here sugar and oxygen react to release energy from the sugar
    • Ribosomes
      • This is where protein synthesis takes place
