- Je: take off 'er', or 're' and add '-ais' to the end of a verb: 'Parler' becomes 'je parlais' 'Ir' is the same ending but with an 'iss' beforehand

- When to use the imperfect: When describing an event in the past that took a period of time, something that you used to do or was interrupted
- Some irregulars include 'voir' and 'faire'
