  • free fall
    • in the abstance of air resistance(firction) ,all objects fall at the same rate regardless of their mass
    • due to garvity the speed of an object dropped from rest from a height will increase at the rate of 10 m/s squared every second that it falls
    • due to gravity,an object allowed to fall freely from rest will accelerate a the rate of 10m/s squared and this is known as the acceleration of free fall(g is the symbol)
    • g=w divided by mass
    • its a misconception to think that a massive object will fall faster than a smaller object
      • is true that there is a greater force on the massive object, but the acceleration, which is the ratio of force to mass, will be the same for both bodies
