  • Fitness and Blood Pressure
    • Fitness
      • Measured in different ways
        • Strength
        • Agility
        • Speed
        • Stamina
          • A good indication of cardiovascul-ar efficiency.
        • Flexibility
      • A  measure of how well you can perform physical tasks
      • Cardiovascular efficiency: how well the heart can pump blood and supply tissues with oxygen.
    • Blood pressure
      • Can be controlled by eating a balanced diet and doing regular exercise
      • Causes dizziness and leads to fainting if its too low. Also poor circulation
      • UNIT: mmHg
      • Can cause blood vessels to burst when  too high
      • Caused by the contractions of the heart
        • Two readings are taken for BP
          • Systolic pressure: Blood pressure when the heart contracts. This is when BP is at its highest
          • Diastolic pressure: Blood pressure when heart relaxes. This is when BP is at its lowest
