- Producing Antibodies
- Every invading cell has ANTIGENS on the surface.
- When WBC come across a foreign antigen, they produce PROTEINS CALLED ANTIBODIES, to lock on to and kill the invading cells.
- The antibodies produced are specific to that type of antigen.
- Antibodies are produced rapidly, carried around the body to kill all similar bacteria or viruses.
- If the person is infected with same pathogen again, WBC rapidly produce antibodies to kill it, so they are naturally immune.
