- in 2011, 1 in 3 men, 1 in 6 women aged 20-34 were living at home still with their parents - 25% increase since 1996
- adult kids have finished education & in their working years - finances are why they stay at home
- also known as 'kippers' - kids in parents pockets
- those who do leave opt for shared houess
- transition between youth & adult roles has been called 'kidulthood'
- relationships formed in shared house is called 'family of choice'
