      • Too large
      • important countries like USA and Germany didn't join so wasn't a completely global organisation
      • complicated structure
      • decisions had to be unanimous which made decision making slow
      • No army meant they couldn't enforce their rules
    • Examples of their failures
      • 1920 Vilna dispute, Poland took Vilna and League did nothing
      • 1923- Corfu crisis where Mussolini invaded Corfu and killed 15 people. M undermined League and made them look weak
    • Consequences of their failure
      • their weakness allowed Hitler to rise to power
