- Many people have moved to cities in rural to urban migration
- They have moved due to push factors such as less traditional farming methods so less manual labour
- Another push factor is that the government is not investing into services and amenities such as gas or electricity
- They are also moving due to pull factors such as they have family or friends out there who are already living with a better quality of life
- Another pull factor may be better housing/services which could give a better quality of life
- This causes natural increases as young people can be attracted by pull factor so birth rates in urban areas increase
