  • Evolution
    • A fossil is the remains of a species
    • process of fossils:
      • Dead organisms become buried in mud, silt or sand
        • there's no oxygen otherwise the dead organism would decay and there would be no fossil
          • over time, the hard parts of the animal like the bones, teeth and shells or woody parts of a tree become replaced by minerals
            • movements of the earths tectonic plates or erosion of rocks reveal the fossil
