Evaluating Food - B1

I hope you enjoy :) I am using a core science AQA book, but in my school i am currently studying OCR and it is the same information just different exam board providing the questions. I am doing mind-maps of all of B1, B2, B3, B4, P1, P2, P3, P4, C1, C2, C3, C4 so i hope you use them as resources. :)

  • Evaluating food, lifestyle and diet
    • There are loads of slimming products and slimming programmes that 'claim' you lose weight.
      • Many business promote their product by saying that a celebrity has lost so much weight with it, but in reality one person doesn't mean much.
        • Look for surveys, but they usually say that exercising more and eating healthy will help lose weight.
          • But all you need to do to lose weight is to take in less energy.
        • But the only way these might work, is if you do more exercise and eat less fat and carbohydrates.
      • For example low-fat bars, may be low in fat but are usually high in sugars but if you eat them without changing your diet, they may not work, and you will be having too much energy.
