      • Lack of physical necessities that are seen as an essential part in today's society
      • Working class pupils are more likely to face poverty an material deprivation and ethnic minorities.

      • Explains why pakistain pupils tend to do worse than indian and white pupils.
        • Indian pupils are from better off backgrounds which proves they can still of better off at school
    • Racism in wider society
      • Ethic minorities children face other factors that effect their achievement such as racism
      • Racial discrimination leads to social exclusion, such as being forced into substandard accommodation
      • In jobs, white people job applications were more likely accepted compared to ethnic people
        • This explains why member of ethnic groups more likely to face unemployment an low pay affecting childrens education
    • Social Policies; Multicultural education
      • A policy that recognises and values minority cultures and included them in the curriculum
