      • pp should not be causes distress or mental harm
        • eg no feeling embarrassed
      • dressed with peer review e.g other academics will look over proposed research before permission to carry out
        • protection from physical harm
          • risk of hard should be no greater than ordinary life
          • pp should leave research same condition as started
            • eg not making someone smoke excessively
