    • environmental crime endangers the environment. green crimes committed by individuals, businessman, governments.
    • examples of green crime by individuals  - littering,
    • examples by businessmen - dumping waste, pollution.
    • examples by government - pollution, transportation and dumping of waste
    • individual green crime- differemt to others. people involved not seen as criminal as such. for years wasn't deviant to litter
    • government green crime- environmental charities e.g. green peace and friends of the earth. whaling took place for thousands of years. 13 species are endangered.
    • Ulrich Beck- many green crime is manufactured and not natural.
    • primary crimes- result from destruction of earth.- air pollution -crimes of deforestation -species decline and animal rights - crimes of water pollution
    • secondary crimes-flouting rules aimed at preventing environmental disaster. hazardous waste and organised crimes e.g. illegal dumping
    • anthropocentric crime - humans have right to dominate nature to meet needs e.g. trees cut down for firewood. econcentric- nature and human is interdependent so harming one harms the next.
