                    • 1. Henry VIII- Changed England from Roman Catholic to Modern catholic and made himself head of the church
                    • 2. Edward Vi- Edward made England protestant and introduced a protestant prayer book
                    • 3.Mary I She made England once again Catholic and removed all Protestants by burning them
                    • 4.Elizabeth- She made England protestant however encorporated some Catholic features in an attempt to please everyone
              • Elizabeth waned to please everyone however this would prove very difficult
                • Because Mary had been Queen before she has burnt or pushed our Protestants, Protestants hoped when Elizabeth became Queen she would do the same to catholic
                  • Marine Exiles were therefore not happy
                • The location of England was also a problem
                  • Spain- Rules by Phillip II ' the most catholic king'
                  • France-Englands natural enemy and was a large powerful catholic country
                  • Netherlands- Part of smanish empire but largely Protestant britains main trade route
