- Natural- suffering caused by natural disasters or diseases.
- Man-made- people hurting others or themselves (by accident or on purpose).
- Where does evil come from?
- Impersonal force- evil is a force that draws us into doing bad things e.g. terrorism, peer pressure.
- Personal being- evil comes from a personal being who encourages us to do bad things e.g. the devil.
- Psychological evil- evil that comes from inside a person's mind.

- a warning e.g. toothache.
