  • Eddie Carbone.
    • 40 years old. An american of Sicilian decent
      • He's generous enough to offer a home for Beatrice's cousins but protective/selfish.
        • He is master of his house, Beatrice + Catherine are used to him laying down the rules. He thinks its the manly thing to do!
          • He cannot accept Rodolfo as normal because of his unusual talents. Like cooking, singing and sewing.
            • HIs  feelings for Catherine become more obssesive and he does everything to undermine Rodolfo.
              • He is very protective of Catherine, which he brought up as his own and has paid for her education. He wants her to grow into a different class of  people
                • He is afraid that she will attract men and doesnt want her to grow up.
                  • We begin to realise that Eddie is in love with Catherine and is JEALOUS of Rodolfo.
                    • He doesnt want to admit his feelings towards  Catherine
                      • He mocks Rodolfo because of his womanly talents and claims he is a homosexual.
    • Doesn't trust people easily.
      • he is concerned about his honour but still betrays his family.'Vinny Bolzano'
        • In the end, Eddie loses everything. Catherine, Beatrice and his name+honour. He has no option but to fight Marco. Ironically his death restores some of honour. Accepts his fate.
        • Eddie also tells Catherine that Rodolfo is just after US citizenship. And tries to get the Law involved. He is surprised when he is told that nothing can be done.
          • Uses violence. Teaches Rodolfo to 'box' and hits him when he sleeps with Catherine.
            • He calls the immigration bureau as his last attempt to stop the wedding. Would do anything for Catherine. and breaks his code of honour.
