- Loss of Tourism: coastal areas are popular tourist destinations. Flooding causes attractions to close, can put people off from visting
- Damage Repair: repairing flood damage can be extremely expensive
- Loss of agricultural land: sea water ha high salt content. Salt reduces soil fertility= crop production can be affected years after flood
- Causes
- Melting ice: increases the volume of water in oceans and causes sea level to rise
- Heating Oceans: Increased global temperature causes oceans to get warmer and expand.
