- DNA & Translation
- Ribosomes
- Made from rRNA (ribosomal RNA) & protein
- Found in the cytoplasm of cells
- It consists of a large sub unit & small subunit with a groove in which the mRNA can fit into & be 'read'
- Transfer RNA (tRNA)
- Hair pin shaped & found in the cytoplasm
- Has 2 codons on each end - >anticodon (shape compliments bases on mRNA) >AA binding arm (AA bind by ester bond ACC)
- The polypeptide
- All polypeptides first AA is methionine (AUG codon)
- The termination codon joins to a release factor (codons are: UAA, UAC, UGA)
- Ribosomes
