- Cost: set up budget for it, HW can be replaced, Sw can be re-installed
- HW/SW/ Communications: loss of computing equip or SW, loss of premises housing IT equipment, loss of essential services e.g heating
- Personnel, Responsibilities, Training: loss of key employees e.g network staff, loss of maintenance&support, make one person responsible for backups
- Procedures: produce procedures for minimising risks, test plan regularly, establish physical protection system e.g firewalls
- Data: No business can afford to lose its data, backups should be made regularly
