  • Diffusion
    • Definition: Diffusion is the spreading out of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration
    • Can happen with both gases and solutions
    • The bigger the difference in concentration, the quicker it will happen
    • Cell walls are a type of diffusion
      • They hold together but let particles in and out
      • Only very small particles can diffuse through the membrane
      • Starch and Proteins can't diffuse through the membrane
      • It happens in a net movement
