    • Abortion is never allowed in situations where parents are concerned that they cannot care for the child.
    • Some Muslim women believe they should be able to choose what happens to their bodies
    • Some argue abortion is allowed in cases of rape or incest
    • Some Muslims allow abortion in the first 16 weeks, others only in the first 7 weeks of pregnancy
    • After 120 days, abortion is only permitted if the mother's life is in danger
    • An unplanned pregnancy is not a reason for abortion
    • Before ensoulment (120/40 days) a foetus is known to be suffering from a serious defect or blood disorder can be aborted
    • Abortion is also not allowed if the pregnancy is a result of adultery
