      • NEW RIGHT- Thatcher famously STATED 'there is NO SUCH THING AS SOCIETY.'
      • TRADITIONALS- view society as ORGANIC
    • FREE MARKETS
      • TRADITIONALS- They SUPPORT free markets with a PRAGMATIC VIEW of ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT (times of STATE INTERVENTION)
      • NEW RIGHT-OPPOSED STATE INTERVENTION ideologically
    • ECONOMY
      • TRADITIONALS- Favoured a MIXED ECONOMY
      • NEW RIGHT- DETERMINED to ELIMINATE STATE CONTROL of industry & commerce
    • WELFARE STATE
      • TRADITIONALS- these are MORE SUPPORTIVE of the WELFARE STATE
      • NEW RIGHT- NOT as supportive as traditionals
    • POLICIES
      • TRADITIONALS- They take a PRAGMATIC VIEW of policies-judging each case on its MERITS
      • NEW RIGHT- MORE IDEOLOGICALLY & tends to GOVERN on the basis of FIXED IDEAS
