    • Weather = Day to day changes in the atmosphere
      • Definitions
        • Climate = Average weather conditions over a period of time usually at least 30 years
        • Pressure system = A large mass of air having similar air pressure characteristics
    • Low pressure = depressions
      • High pressure = anticyclones
    • Rain falls in a depression as air rises, it is called frontal rain fall. Rising air also results in rainfall as air heats and rotates and as air passes over hills and mountains (orographic rainfall) or in a thunderstorm (convectional rainfall).
