  • Mediation
    • Deals with sensitive areas e.g. divorce and other family matters
      • Under the Family Law Act 1996(void)
        • Made it normal for matrimonial disputes and tried to make it compulsory but was unsuccessful
        • Thought to be best for the couple, children and reduce the Legal Representation costs
    • A trained mediator advises and assists
      • And the two parties come up with an agreement together
    • Usually offered in small claims for commerical disputes now
      • As Arbitration on has increased in time and money
      • Avoids the need to go in front of a District Judge
