  • Dangers of a Volcano
    • Pyroclastic flow - hot clouds of gas, steam and ash up to 400 degrees
    • Lava flows - destroys buildings and farmlands but not dangerous to humans
    • Dust - released into atmosphere and causes problems for planes, cars and breathing
    • Gases - e.g. sulfur dioxide which can cause acid rain
    • Earthquakes - can occur during eruptions and may cause landslides
    • Ash - settles on roads and buildings causing them to collapse or become unusable
