    • How did the USA act toward the Cuban Revolution?
      • The Cuban revolution was a civil war between Fidel Castro a communist and Batista a dictator. Castro lost the first time and recruited from inside the jungles. This and many more battles, caused Batista to exile to the Dominican Republic in 1959.
        • USA reaction was to cut trading between them and Cuba. No travel, materials or sugar.  FAIL!
          • The USA begin to compete with Cuba for Rum & Cigars. FAIL!

          • GOOD:
            • Rights for women and blacks.
            • Better commun-ications, medical facilities, health, housing and education.
            • Unemploy-ment reduced.
          • BAD:
            • Expanding his power.
            • Persecuted homosexuals.
            • Farms seized by government.
            • Nationalised private property.
            • No religion.
    • Why did Khrushchev put missiles into Cuba?
      • To strengthen the USSR.
      • Produce more nuclear war head to close the missile gap between the USA.

      • What he could've done:
        • Done nothing, keeping peace.

          • This is what he does, stopping all military supplies etc.
            • He was under pressure from military leaders: WAR? NO!
