    • No reason why chain of cause and effect cannot be infinate
      • Leibniz Response = would still need explanation for whole chains existence

      • Self contradictory by saying God does what was claimed as impossible!
        • Aquinas' response = God is unique and exists in a unique way!
    • Just because everything in the universe is contingent this doesn't mean the universe as a whole is contingent
      • Matter might be eternal!
    • Hume
      • Could be a variety of first causes
        • No logical reason to link to a Christian God!
      • Never experienced God
        • So how can you use something you have no experience in an argument?!
