How is a law created?

View mindmap
  • Creating a law.
    • A bill is drafted and presented to the house of commons.
      • Debated - those who support the bill have to convince others why it should become a law
        • Vote to see if it should continue. Needs at least 50% in favour.
          • If agreed, passed to the House of Lords.
            • The Queen then gives her consent to the new law. It may become a law straight away or at a later set date.
