  • Complex Ions
    • Complex Ion- A metal ion surrounded by ligands
    • Ligand- A molecule or ion with a lone pair of electrons which will form a coordinate bond with the metal ion
      • Electron  pair donor
    • Coordinate Bond- One atom donates and shares an electron pair with another
    • Coordination Number- The number of coordinate bonds formed between the ligands and the central metal ion
