      • The narrator grieves for the love they have lost.
      • Water is a powerful force,so the use of water-related mataphors to decribe the love shows how powerful it was and how deeply the loss of it has affected the narrator
      • Repetition of content from the first lines of the poem acts as a conclusuion. The narrator has explained the complaint and rounds off the arguement, bring the reder back to the present situation and their sense of loss.

        • Language: fountain shows that he could be crying a lot for it to relate to a fountain. Also it shows how much he's crying if the writer is referring to it as a fountain.
        • Structure: it puts an emphasis on it and shows the friendship as it comes after a comma and its at the front of the line.
      • and i am poor
        • language: adjective poor-less well off;deprived of quality. Monosyllable-sorrowful tone
        • structure: dash creates a reflective pause-thinking about what has been lost
      • nor long ago
        • language: nor is a conjuction
        • structure: with how they are speaking in the quote shows that is recently happened
      • a flow it did
        • structure: flow is repeated, also there  is a semi-colon being used.
        • language: starts with a conjuction.uses a verb-"flow" shows the movement "did" is pst tense and it shows thingd have now changed.
