- 4 stages:
- Report everything: however trivial or irreliventit may seem (based on consistency of recall)
- Context Reinstatement: mentallyrecreate the enviroment - thoughts,feelings, weather,proceeding events... (consistency of recall)
- Change the order: e.g reverse order (retrieval through different routes)
- Change the perspective: i.e to other witnesses (retrieval through different routes)
- Fisher et al: police officers - some doing CI some SI, CI obtained more correct facts - (CI helps improve accuracy of EWT)
- Kohnken et al: meta analysis (52) - 34% increase in amount of correct info from CI compared to SI
- Milne & bull: better to use all sections of CI - works better.
- Limited use by police: will only use certain aspects of CI which they think will be most useful

- Memon et al: when officers only given short CI training ( 4hrs) didn't inc. accuracy of recall
