    • Priestley used different characters in the play to present his views on Socialsim. 
      • The inspector helps present the Birlings attitude towards others.
      • Mrs Birling initlally refuses to identify Eva in the photo.
        • Eva is a symbol of the millions of working class women. She has no identity therefore Mrs.B sees the working class as irrelevant nobody's.
