- It is commanded by God as a sign of the Covenant
- It is a symbol that if you disobey God, you will be cut off God's promise
- NOT IMPORTANT?
- girls do not have to be circumcised
- It should be your own choice
- You could cut a piece of cloth instead
- You can still follow all the rules without being circumcised
- The Bar/bat Mitzvah would equally be sufficient without being circumcised as well
