- Christian Worship and Practices
- Forms of Worship
- Liturgical worship is very organised but not very free or expressive. It often includes the Lord's Prayer.
- Non-liturgical worship has almost no organisation but is very free and expressive. It often has a younger audience.
- Informal worship is organised but also allows its users to express themselves, often with activities.
- Private worship is worship done without a congregation, usually including the Bible and self-wrote prayers.
- Prayer and its significance
- The Lord's Prayer is a prayer supposedly given by Jesus when asked how to pray correctly. It is often used in liturgical worship.
- Set prayers are prayers that a communion say together. They cannot be modified for each person but once learned you can use them at most communions. The Lord's prayer is a set prayer.
- Informal prayer is prayer that is not planned or set. Most private prayers are informal.
- Sacraments
- Sacraments are visible ceremonies with an inward and spiritual grace.
- Baptism
- Believers baptism is a believer deciding to get baptised after deciding they want to be Christian.
- Infants baptism is when a baby's parents decide their child should be Christian.
- Eucharist is when Christians eat bread and drink wine to commemerate Jesus' last supper.
- One interpretation is that the bread and wine become the body of Jesus.
- Pilgrimage
- Lourdes is a small village that had Burnadette living in it. She had some visions and now people go there to be healed.
- Iona is a small island that had a rebuilt monastery and is very beautiful.
- Celebrations
- Christmas is when Jesus was born and is very important as it brought God into the physical world or incarnated Him.
- Easter is when Jesus died and resurrected. It is very important as it represents us being reborn after Jesus saved us.
