  • Christian Weddings
    • Introduction - where the leader explains the marriage.
      • Questions are then asked to ensure the lawfulness of the marriage
    • The Congregation will sing a HYMN
      • After which a bible passage is read and a prayer of blessing will be said
        • All reflecting Christian Beliefs about God's love for his people and thanking God
      • All reflecting Christian Beliefs about God's love for his people and thanking God
    • The Bride and groom will make special vows where they commit to each other.
    • The giving and receiving of rings.
      • This is symbolic of the promise they have made to each other and that marriage is forever
    • An official declaration that the bride and groom are now married
      • "I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride."
    • The Priest will preach a sermon which teaches the couple how special marriage is.
      • This also reminds them of God's purpose for marriage.
    • The signing of the Marriage Register
    • Roman Catholics have holy communion
      • Where they remember Jesus' Sacrifice and drink wine and eat bread.
