- God created the Earth and gave the stewardship over the world to humans so humans have to look after the world for the next generation in a better condition

- Old Testament: look after land and animals and give the land a rest every 50th year by not planting any crops

- Sermon on the Mount: Jesus taught that Christians have equal responsibility to make sure the Earth's resources are equally distributed
- The Bible says that on judgement day people will be judged on how they have treated the Earth
