- Berko & Brown
- Fis phenomenon
- Berko and Brown used an account of a child using the word 'fis' to say fish, when seeing or playing with his plastic fish.
- However when the caregiver questioned whether the plastic 'fis' belonged to the kid he denied it.
- This phenomenon proved that although the infant may not be able to pronounce the word correctly, they are still very aware of the correct pronunciation.
- Wug test
- Linguistic experiment created to investigate the understanding of plurals and morphemes in English speaking children.
- Children find patterns in language, in order to learn it.
- The test was designed in a way which enabled the investigator to examine children's understanding of allomorphs at different ages.
