- Chemistry 2
- Percentage mass of element= Relative atomic mass x no of atoms(in element) / the relative formula mass. All times by 100
- THE EMPIRICAL FORMULA
- 1. List the elements
- 2. Write there experimental mass number
- 3. Divide by the relative atomic mass
- 4. Multiply by good number such as 10
- 5. And/or divde them
- 6. Get into simplest form yand you have the empiracal formula of that compound
- 5. And/or divde them
- Amount of product you get is a yield
- percentage yield= actual yield(grams)/ predicted yield(grams) x100
- Rate of reaction depends on four things: 1. temperature, 2.concentration, 3. catalyst, 4. surface area
- Rate of reaction= amount of reactant used or amount of product formed/ time
- 5. And/or divde them
- 6. Get into simplest form yand you have the empiracal formula of that compound
