  • Chemical Equations
    • Balanced symbol equations show the atoms at the start (the reactant atoms) and the atoms at the end (the product atoms) and how they're arranged:
      • Sodium + chlorine = sodium chloride
        • 2Na(s) + Cl2(g) = 2NaCl(s)
    • You balance the equation by putting numbers in front of the formulas where needed
      • Na(s) + H20(l) = NaOH(aq) = H29g0
    • There must be the same number of atoms on both sides
    • You can't change formulas like H20 to H30. You can only put numbers in front of them.
