  • Characteristics of ACT
    • Focus on those who need the most help from the community health service
    • It helps with independence, rehabilitation and recovery, as well as it helps to avoid homelessness and finally re - hospitalisation.
    • The treatment can take place in the patient's real life setting.
      • Visiting them and helping instead of offering them therapies which means that there will be enough staff to support them and offer them the relevant treatment
    • Working with other professionals has worked so that whole teams of people can focus on the individual in question
      • E.g. psychiatrists, nurses, Social worker.
    • ACT commits to spending as much time with a person who has schizophrenia as possible
      • This includes rehabilitation and support
      • They can also be offered holistic treatment which has looked at the needs
