      • bus driver does not take them to the ranch, so stay in the forrest.
    • The setting and description of the brush and the forest makes up feel calm and relaxed.
      • this contrasts the trouble ahead.
    • George has power over Lennie.
      • he tells him to hand over the dead mouse.
      • He tells Lennie not to talk when they are with the boss.
      • Lennie has some power over George and can minipulate him.
        • "I can go off in the hills an' find a cave."
        • He can make George say he wants Lennie to stay.
    • We find out Lennie did something bad in weed.
      • George to Lennie "I ain't going to remind ya, fear ya doing it again"
