      • Biguns head to castle rock in a hunt for the beast. Littleuns shown lack of care. Piggy remains with littleuns
      • They head to the top of the mountain in hope of finding the beast but the mood turns bad when they realise the signal fire is out
    • Why is this chapter important
      • Biguns all head off on a hunt, arrogant to the littleuns discomfort and fear from being left alone.
      • Savagery first displayed in Jack is infectious to all inhabitants.
      • When Piggy is left with the littleuns it shows his lack of authority and his social struggles, different to other biguns.
    • Exploited themes
      • Hunting the beast becomes priority.
      • Fear is portrayed when Sam n Eric, who are in the older category are startled by an encounter
