  • Changing nappies
    • Should be carried out on a flat surface and an older baby can roll off.
    • Sponge the bottom with some water and pat dry at each nappy change
    • Apply nappy cream/castor oil/zinc as this will offer some protection against nappy rash
      • Nappy rash is caused by ammonia that is produced when urine comes in contact with bacteria. It causes skin to go red and causes great discomfort towards child
        • How to avoid nappy rash
          • Change nappy frequently
          • Leave the nappy off if possible for some time during the day
          • Never leave a dirty nappy off if possible for some time during the day
          • Thoroughly clean baby's skin at each nappy change and use sponge with warm water
          • Use nappy cream
