- Carbon dioxide from the lungs is transported in three ways:
- 1. 5% is DISSOLVED directly into the PLASMA
- 2. 10% is COMBINED directly with HAEMOGLOBIN to form the compound CARBOAMINOHAEMOGLOBIN
- 1. 5% is DISSOLVED directly into the PLASMA
- Must be removed and transported to the lungs
- 3. 85% is transported in the form of HYDROGENCARBONATE ions
- Carbon dioxide from the lungs is transported in three ways:
