    • 1 mole is the amount of substance that contains as many oarticles as there are atoms in exactly 12g of carbon-12
    • Avogadro constant 6.02x10(23)
      • Number of atoms in exactly 12g of carbon-12
    • Mass in g of 1 mole of substance is known as molar mass
    • Moles = mass of substance/molar mass
    • Moles in solution = volume x concentration (mol dm3)
    • Concentration can be expressed as parts per million ppm
      • ppm = number of parts of the chemical/number of parts it is contained in x10(6)
    • More moles more concentrated
    • Fewer moles more dilute
