          • Radio was the main form of entertainment for people in America before cinema
            • It allowed illiterate people to know important information, allowed gramophone recordings of new Jazz music and play them at home and the radio succeeded as companies paid to advertise on them
        • Cinema and Hollywood
          • Cheap news and entertainment for people, one in most towns
          • Hollywood was the film capital of the world, over 500 new films produced a year, so there were lots of new jobs in film making
        • Clubs
          • More people spent money on going to new clubs to buy alcohol and listen to Jazz music, and then would buy gramophone recordings of that music, helping the economy
