- Boethius' solution
- God knows what we will do so he is responsible for our actions
- He seeks to separate
- 1. Knowing what someone will do
- God knows what we will do , but this is not the cause of what we do
- 2. Causing someone to act in a particular way

- If God knows what I will do next the necessairily I must do the thing that God knows that I will do. But it feels to me as if I use my free will to choose what to do next, so how can God know what I am to do next if it is my free choice?
