  • Hypothalamus dysfunction works around the idea that animals have a set weight that is correct for their body
    • Should that weight change, body will try to make the body return to normal
        • Suggested that a disturbed hypothalamus may be a cause of AN
          • Any disturbance could lead to either the LH or the VMH to be constantly activated.
            • Most likely that the LH is damaged and the individual never recieved the hunger signal
              • VMH becomes over activated and a constant satiety signal is given
