- After relations with Cuba decreased. USA formed a plan to invade Cuba and take Fidel Castro out of power
- Rather than the USA nvading Cuba the Central intelligance agency (CIA) trained 1500 Cuban exciles , who had left Cua when Castro came to power.
- The CIA were sure that the cuban people would rise up and overthrow Castro oce the exciles had landed in Cuba.
- The invasion didnt work and didn't go well, it embarrassed Kennedy and the USA.
- Castro was very popular in Cuba and the CIA had failed to recognise it.
- Some of the exciles were overheard discussing their plans, so Castro was expecting the invasion .
